Hot Yoga and Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is a multi system disease that has a complex origin in genetics and the environment. it is characterised by high and irregular blood sugars that may be difficult to control.
Those with type 2 diabetes may benefit from yoga because it helps control blood sugar levels, according to an October 2013 study in the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies. Researchers found that even a short-term (8-week) Bikram [a form of Hot Yoga] yoga programme improved glucose tolerance for older adults that tended to have obesity.
